A Change in Location

As you all know Amy and I were on our way to the Philippines to reach people for Christ and see them come to maturity in the Christian life.  God still desires us to do this same task, but the location has changed.  God has called our family to return to Oconomowoc Wisconsin in order to be a part of building His church, the body of believers.  One of our main missions in Wisconsin will be to the Hispanic population that has been severely overlooked by the church.  We will therefore be studying Mexican language and culture this next year in central Mexico.  Please pray for us to learn the language and culture well in order to minister more effectively.  We are very excited for God’s will for us.  We have learned and believe that the best place for us to be is right in middle of God’s will.  Thank you for all your prayers and support.  We love you!!!

The Philippines

Jared II’s Potty Time

Jared II went potty on the potty for the first time over the weekend. We as new parents are soo excited for him and had to share the news with our friends & family.

School At Last

We started school this week and it has been great but hard getting back into the swing of things. The kids seem to love childcare, which is great, and we started of the year with the flu. It wasn’t fun but it makes feeling good that much better!

Thanks to everyone who prayed for safe travels & happy kids. The Lord gave us both. 

Jared’s First trip to the Zoo

We were visiting Aaron and Amy (my brother & sister-in-law) this past weekend (July 28-31). We decided to take the kids to the zoo and Jared II just loved it. He was running wild!

First Rodeo

I (Amy) attended my first rodeo this past Friday. It was fun watching the bronco riding. I didn’t like the cow roping or tackling, the rodeo clown was awful, and we left before the bull riding. In all though I liked it!!! It was fun hanging out with friends.

Jared’s (II) first dentist apt.

Jared had his first dentist apointment Tuesday, July 17. He did so good!! We read a Dora visits the Dentist book to him days before so he could be ‘cool’ like Dora. While I was getting my teeth cleaned he held my hand… soo cute!

Family Reunion

We had a small Dodd family reunion Saturday July 14. We had a good time hanging out. Here is a group photo.

Flood

Last night was one of the worst storms Marble Falls has seen in awhile. Roads were ripped up, fences torn out of the ground, parts of the city had to be evacuated today (6/27) and one of the lakes added 4.4 trillion gallons. Though we couldn’t drive over certain roads we had fun playing in it.

Texas Travel

We hit the road late Thursday for a road trip we will never forget. At about 9:00 pm we on our way to Texas (about 20 hours of straight driving).

Our plan did not go over so well. After a homegroup we attended (Thurs. night) we woke the kids up to leave for Texas. Jared II decided this was too much fun to drive in the dark and decided to stay up until 2:30 am. It was a long night and very long next day.

We arrived at Jared’s parents around 5:00pm Friday night. It was very nice to here.

We start our internship June 4th. Actually it is Jared’s internship, but I will do as much as I can while I am here. VBS, Youth Group, retreats, day trips etc.

Isaiah’s First Tooth

Isaiah’s First Tooth came through yesterday (May 24). He will be 5 months on May 30th.

Things are going great up here in WI. We are enjoying visiting with friends and family. We leave for Texas June 1st. It will be quit a roadtrip with Isaiah and Jared II!

DogWood Parade

Saturday we went to the dogwood parade. Jared II had a great time watching all the tractors, horses and floats, as well as, all the games he played before hand. Isaiah either cried or slept through the whole thing.

Team Work

Last week our class went out to a ropes coarse to practice some practical team work exercises. We had a great time working as a team on the ground exercises and had fun climbing rock walls and other crazy things. I also chose to climb this telephone pole and jump to a bar which was a few feet across from it. I was scared to death and of course missed the bar.

 

Easter Fun

My parents had the chance to come down and visit us over our easter break. We had a great time visiting. Jared colored eggs for the first time and went on an easter egg hunt. He had soo much fun. Look at that blue hand!
