Jared, Amy, Jared II, & Isaiah
Amy and I have had the joy of being called to serve Jesus in the context of Tribal Missions. Our passion is to see New Testament churches planed where Jesus is not known. This was also the heart of the apostle Paul:
Romans 15:20,21- It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation. Rather, as it is written: “Those who were not told about Him will see, and those who have not heard will understand.”
Our home church, White Stone has been extremely gracious and Christ-like in their love and encouragement, and we look forward to being their hands and feet overseas.
AMY CATHERINE AND JARED LANE DODD
Jared was born in Brownsville, Texas on April 20, 1979. He grew up right outside of Houston, then moved to Austin. He attended Angelo State University for a year and is very cocky about his Texas heritage. Then, he moved to Waukesha WI, and graduated New Tribes Bible Institute, in 2000. In 2001, Countryside Community Church hired him on as staff. His sister Ginny, her husband George, and their three kids Isaac, Sarah, and Abby, completed the entire NTM training in December 2005. They leave for the Philippines in October of 2006.
I (Amy) was born in Palmer, Alaska on December 17, 1984. For some reason my parents moved my two brothers and me everywhere. After living in Alaska, Montana, and Pennsylvania we settled down in Oconomowoc WI. Here, Albert, my oldest brother, met and married Carrie in May 2006. They have a beautiful daughter, Layla, and another baby due in late February. Aaron, my other brother, met and married Amy (yes I know, kinda weird.jk) in March 2002. They have a son, Elijah, who is a crazy smart child. Jared and I married in March of 2004. We have a son, Jared II, and another boy due in late December.
I attended UW Waukesha for a spring semester, and helped out with our church’s youth group. Jared was the Youth Leader at that time, so we saw a lot of each other. One day he finally admitted that he liked me, and I told him the next day that I felt the same way. The fall after that, I attended NTBI in Waukesha. Jared proposed that November and 4 months later we were married. 8 months after that we were pregnant and Jared II was born August 11, 2005. December of 2005, Jared became serious about going down to Missouri to finish missions training. I said “NO WAY!”. But after some time and sleep, we meet with the elder board of our church and ask for them to pray for us. A few weeks later, they consented and we applied for the Missions Training Center. Shortly after we were accepted, and then we found out we were pregnant again. Isaiah was born December 30, 2006 and we are very excited about what God is doing in our lives. We graduate in May 2008 and hope to be somewhere overseas soon after that.
